This portrait is entitled "Bliss, 2000." Despite the poor quality of this upload, do you think this image makes for a universal representation of "bliss?" Why? Why not? To support your position, be sure to refer to different elements from the photograph.

The basic definition of BLISS is "supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment." I'm not completely sure if this image would make for a universal representation of "bliss" because there are many other elements in life that a person can consider that would make them happy. But this image itself is sort of cheerful because of the bright colors and the use of effects. I like the clouds, because they seem like they create this motion in the picture. Personally, that is one thing that I would refer to as "bliss."
I think the picture was the falling man, right?
Well, I think that you can see the picture in different ways. And it kind of looks like whoever took the picture took it upside down. But since it was taken during 9/11 I guess that you could look at the person's 'bliss' as getting out of that horrible day.
I rehosted the picture on imageshack, and it was the default wallpaper for Windows. Rolling green hills, blue sky, and clouds, right?
It's a very contrived idea of bliss. Everyone has their own sense of bliss; their own state of mind that takes them away from any suffering they may be feeling and into a place where they are completely happy and at peace with the world. This picture shows society's standard of bliss; something that may be considered peaceful to many people. So, I don't know if there could ever be something that could visually present universal bliss.
Personally, I am at bliss with jazz music blaring in my ears surrounded by those I love, no matter where the location.
I think that this photo represents "Bliss" because the sky is so clear and all the colors and images blend together. The photo makes it look like it's a perfect day from its perfect weather. Who wouldn't think a perfect sky and grassy hills isn't "Bliss"?

--I could not see the picture but I am guessing it is the "Windows XP" default picture with the green grass and blue sky.--
Hmm, well I personally don't think this image would represent universal representation of bliss because everyone has different views of bliss. Although this is a very calm and peaceful landscape, it would not satisfy everyone. Some may like imperfection, others may see bliss as being around people. Things like that.To me, listening to music and having no worries is bliss.
After reading that the image was the Window's XP rolling hills wallpaper, I really don't think that that image can be referred to as bliss from everyone's perspective. Bliss is pure happiness were you are truly happy. People experience true happiness is different ways and forms, so I think that it cannot be said that it represents true bliss. Personally, I don't experience it as bliss or representing bliss because it looks fake and exaggerated. Some people might like the green grass and clouds (which might set them into bliss in their case) but for me, it just looks fake.
I can't see the picture either, but i'm going off of the picture for windows, like him ^
ALthough i believe the picture is blissful, with perfectly green grass, and blue skies, i don't think that it is a universal representation of bliss. I believe this because bliss is a feeling, and green hills and blue skies might not make everyone feel blissful. Some may find the scene lonley, or boring, or empty, because of the simpleness of it, and may find more bliss on an island, or in the jungle.
This picture is not bliss full because it doesnt make me have utter joy an exitment, to me its kind of boring and dull. I guess it could be a picture of just taking time to enjoy whats around you and be thank ful for what you have. Everyone is so caught up with there jobs and families that no one takes the time to enjoy whats around us.
Assuming that the photo was the windows xp default i believe that a photo can make a person make feel a particular way. Maybe blissful was what the artist felt like while creating this work of art. You can't always assume a picture in general because every person is different and they all have different perspectives.
